Ternopil State Medical University

Ternopil National Medical University (abbreviated to TNMU or TSMU for Ternopil State Medical University) is a medical university located in the city of Ternopil in Ukraine.

TSMU was established on the 12th of April 1957 as a Ternopil Medical Institute. In 1994, the Institute received an IV level of institutional accreditation. On the 17th of November 2004, after reorganization, the institution became Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

In 2014 TNMU was ranked 1st in the industry ranking of all medical universities in Ukraine (held annually by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine).

• The student dormitories of TNMU are located on the large campus of the University buildings which also have open spaces and greeneries. The campus provides convenient accommodation to all students and physicians including the international students, interns, Master’s degree students, resident physicians, Ph.D. students, preparatory course students, and post-graduate students for the duration of their studies at the university. Accommodations are also offered to the applicants during the entrance exams.

• The campus administration coordinates between the administrative office, student self-governance, Vice-Rectors for science, education, and social Affairs, tutors council, and group curators on the matter of facility improvement, leisure time, culture, and sports activities of students within the campus.

• Campus administration is made up of a director, an assistant director, two inspectors, and an inspector for international student affairs. It also controls housekeeping, room tidiness, and enforcement of safety rules by the students.

  In dormitory No.1 international students mostly from India, Malaysia, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Poland, and other countries are put up.

• The dormitory has 206 rooms with a total accommodation capacity of 508 students. Each floor of the dormitory has 3 wings. There are 3 suites, a common room, a kitchen with essential equipment, and a utility room in each wing. The suit contains 2 x 2-bed rooms and 2 x 3-bedrooms, with toilets and showers.

• The Internet is available in most rooms of the dormitory.
  The Dormitory Director’s office, a staff office, and a spacious hall are located on the ground floor which also features a few libraries, a health center, a small computer room, and a study hall for international students.

• The students of dormitory no.1 and 2 can use a modern computer room with 30 computers connected to the Internet. You can also take full advantage of a café and a spacious dining-hall which is also used by international students for holding occasional parties and cultural events.

• A large gym with modern weightlifting and exercise equipment is situated in the basement of the dormitory. There is also a laundry in the basement.

The eligibility criteria for MBBS in Ukraine for Indian students are as follows:

• Age limits for admission – 17 years to 25 years.

• Students must complete 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) from a regular board of India or abroad.

• Students that studied under open board or correspondence classes are not eligible.

• Minimum 50% combined aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

• NEET qualification (with a 50% score for the general un-reserved category) is a must if the student intends to practice in India after the MBBS study in Ukraine
